Teziutlán, city, northeastern Puebla estado (state), east-central Mexico. It lies at 6,530 feet (1,990 metres) above sea level in the Sierra Madre Oriental, near the border of Veracruz state. The city is a commercial and manufacturing centre for a region in which apples and other fruits, corn (maize), beans, and wheat are grown and cattle and sheep are raised. Leather goods, ceramics, cigars, and wines are produced there. Copper and silver are mined in the vicinity. The city lies northwest of Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz state, and is the terminus of a branch railroad leading from the line between Mexico City and Veracruz. Teziutlán also has an airport. Pop. (2005) 60,597; (2010) 58,699.
